The Voting System: Legislation passed in 2007 set in motion an election process that would incorporate a paper trail. After receiving the necessary funding in 2014, Maryland began using paper-dominant system for the 2016 election cycle and beyond. Please visit the State Board of Elections’ website for more information on the voting equipment.
